Dineen’s studio practice explores the plural nature of our material vernacular and its cross sections with craft, manufacturing, anthropology, and domesticity. The form of his work varies to include drawing, painting, sculpture, furniture and land art. Born in Elgin, IL and raised in Genoa, IL, Dineen earned his bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2006) where he was awarded the Ryerson Traveling Fellowship. He holds an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art (2013) where he was an Annual Merit Award recipient. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including shows in New York City, Detroit, Toronto, and Melbourne. Dineen is an Associate Professor of Sculpture and the Foundations Coordinator in the Department of Art and Art History at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO.
